I have had to appeal my DLA applications twice now and since the outcome of the second decision was made, I have learnt so much.
Last March my decision for DLA claim came back as HRM & LRC and I was unhappy with the decision so I appealed.
I got a decision in July and was awarded HRC & HRM without tribunal and it was backdated to March.
x What I didn't know at the time was that because of this award, I was entitled to Severe Disability Premium and Enhanced Disability Premium.
For more information, see Factsheet F60 - personal independence payment - a guide to making a claim.
Disability test - the care component For the lowest rate of the care component, your child must need attention in connection with their bodily functions for a significant part of the day (which can be during one or more periods).
You can find out more about this in our universal credit section.
If you met the qualifying rules before your date of claim, HMRC will backdate your claim up to 31 days.
They need: during the day: In addition to the above tests, your child’s care, supervision or watching-over needs must also be substantially greater than those of a child of the same age who is in normal physical and mental health.Hi all just wondering if any of you have had to call child tax credits in regards to backdating the disability element and how long it takes? They owe me a fair amount but didn't indicate the timescale just said it would be sent off. If i become entitled to sdp as a result of this will it be backed to when i had to apply for pip.The reason for this is that some DLA to PIP reassessments will result in less PIP than DLA, especially once the bulk of reassessments start.Universal credit is being introduced geographically and in areas where the full (digital) service is available, it may no longer be possible to make a new claim for tax credits.
