To be fair, I never had a conversation with a group of guys who said anything like, “I could never date her. She’s just too smart, industrious and upwardly mobile.” Instead, we said things like, “She’s too intimidating” or “She’s too into her career” to explain our aversion. Most men are happy to be with a woman who is exceptionally beautiful, even if her beauty overshadows his attractiveness. But when it comes to a woman whose successes outpace those of the men around her, her prospects seem to shrink.
Given this growing ascendancy, one might surmise that men have started to feel emasculated, put off by financially independent, strong women who make their own way because of the fear they're losing value as men.
Have you noticed the trend that many successful women have a lot of trouble when it comes to finding a husband?
Many try to enlist the help of a matchmaker to find them someone, but even then, they have trouble with the dates they are set up on.
But are men really intimidated by strong, smart and successful women?
Obviously, all men are different, and to generalize an entire gender would be wrong.
